OSAP Q3 Workshop: Write Better at Work

Six Ways to Be More Professional and Accelerate Your Career

Online Via Zoom

ABOUT THE SESSION:

If you have a hunch that the level of professionalism in business writing is slipping, you are not alone: 86 percent of employees and executives blame poor communication and collaboration as the main causes of failures in business, according to research by Salesforce.

“Clear writing is a sign of clear thinking,” wrote Basecamp founder Jason Fried in his book, Rework. “If you are trying to decide among a few people to fill a position, hire the best writer. … Writing is today’s currency for good ideas.”

We’ll talk about that currency from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, when we take a deep dive into how we write (and why that may be holding us back at work). In this practical, tactical follow-on session to our Q3 panel discussion on “Tailoring Your Style for Professional Advancement,” OSAP member Teresa Zumwald will present:

  • What unprofessional business writing looks like
  • The risks to you and your organization when your business writing is less than professional
  • The rewards of upping your game
  • What to do first (that others can’t or won’t do)
  • Five problem areas in business writing to fix now (if you want to get promoted faster)
  • A bonus to help you invest in yourself starting today

Registration is now open. Please select this link. The zoom link will be sent out the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 24.

The cost for this 1.5-hour CE-accredited webinar is $75 for members; $115 for non-members. It will be recorded for those who may wish to view it at a later date.
