Join us May 25, 2023 for the Q2 Educational Workshop, Contract Navigation For Associations. In this session, Frantz Ward partners Andrew Cleves and Christopher Koehler will go in depth on the various issues that may arise with contracts your business may encounter, with a particular focus on the most frequent potholes you’ll face and how to navigate them.

About the Speakers:

A.ClevesAndrew Cleves devotes his practice to counseling and representing employers in all aspects of employment law and labor relations. He counsels employers of all sizes on key issues, including: compliance with discrimination and wage and hour laws; drafting, revising, and implementing employment policies; drafting employment, independent contractor, non-competition, and severance agreements;  managing leaves of absence; issuing employee discipline; and various aspects of the collective bargaining process.

Andrew prides himself on his ability to serve as a trusted advisor and provide proactive and practical advice. Andrew also devotes a significant portion of his practice to employment litigation, where he represents management in state and federal courts and before arbitrators and administrative agencies. Andrew has successfully defended employers in matters including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misappropriation of trade secrets, and breaches of non-competition and employment agreements. Andrew also has successfully represented employers in traditional labor matters, including at arbitrations and before the National Labor Relations Board and State Employment Relations Board.

C.KoehlerChris Koehler helps clients navigate disputes. On the front end, he provides proactive solutions to limit enterprise and litigation risk. When litigation does occur, he represents clients vigorously but efficiently, with a focus on the client’s business goals. Chris’ trial and litigation work centers on the staffing, manufacturing and service industries, managing business disputes involving business torts, trade secrets, non-competition agreements, distribution agreements, and breach of contract and warranty claims. He also has extensive experience in the defense of product liability and toxic tort claims.

Chris’ litigation work has led to regular counseling of clients across a broad spectrum of industries on how to avoid disputes, including counseling on internal policies, management of risk, development of sales contracts, contract review and other best practices to minimize the likelihood of litigation and increase the odds of success when litigation occurs.
