Marketing Coordinator

Columbus Bar Association | Columbus, Ohio

The Columbus Bar Association is seeking applications for the position of Marketing Coordinator. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for providing guidance to the association by developing, managing, and evaluating marketing strategies; planning and coordinating marketing efforts across all departments; communicating the marketing plans to those involved; and building awareness of the CBA brand.

The Marketing & Publications Coordinator will focus marketing strategies on increasing market share, user engagement, and brand awareness across all media types including, print, digital, and social.

Responsibilities would include:

Marketing Strategy

  • Develop, manage, and oversee coordinated marketing strategies for entire organization (with input from department leaders and executive staff)
  • Help produce marketing materials and manage central repository of all marketing efforts
  • Review and approve all marketing content to ensure alignment with organizational goals, marketing strategies, and branding
  • Identify target audience(s) for various marketing promotions and track success/response rates
  • Continuously monitor and analyze marketing efforts to determine market penetration; guide the association in how to improve brand awareness, message(s), and reach
  • Produce monthly marketing reports
  • Monitor industry trends to keep the association in front of changes that impact delivery of our message
  • Develop and oversee “partner marketing” programs including strategies to promote member benefits while balancing partner needs/concerns with CBA needs/concerns
  • Conduct training sessions with Board, staff and others as needed with an eye toward increasing CBA social media footprint
  • Manage content for Columbus Bar Lawyers Quarterly, including coordinating advertising, and working with volunteer editorial board to generate content
  • Develop and manage sponsorship programs for various events

Publications

  • Produce quarterly digital magazine: identify and curate content with assistance from volunteer authors; edit, format copy, and page layout; adhere to production schedules and publication deadlines; generate table of contents; distribute content and promote readership; engage with authors; track readership stats; coordinate ad artwork and placement
  • Produce bi-weekly news page in Business First: curate content, edit, format copy, and page layout; adhere to production schedules and publication deadlines social media
  • Schedule, manage, design, and track engagement on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Manage SEO and AdWords campaigns

Other

  • Assist Membership Director in member recruitment and retention campaigns and events
  • Assist in generating marketing materials for various programs & events
  • Offer additional staffing support for special events, committee meetings, and e-newsletter content

Qualifications:

The Columbus Bar Association is a member focused association with a strong commitment to customer service. The ideal candidate for this position will have exceptional customer service skills and be a team player. Additional required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in marketing or related field
  • Well-versed in editing and AP style of writing
  • Experience in social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.
  • Ability to create and upload website content
  • Familiarity with Issuu digital magazine platform & design software
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and a strict adherence to deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite and skilled experience in MS Excel,
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including relationship-building skills with clients and co-workers
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good phone demeanor
  • Being resourceful, dependable, and professional with a keen attention to detail
  • Able to establish and maintain working relationships
  • Ability to work independently
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Good organization skills
