Position Summary:
ASM International is seeking seeking a dynamic and experienced controller to join our finance team. The controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, financial management, and non-profit regulations. As the controller, you will collaborate closely with the executive leadership and contribute to the organization's overall financial strategy and decision-making process.
This role will report to the director of finance and engage with all areas of the organization. The controller will also play a critical role in the administration and maintenance of key software tools used to manage the organization, and continually look for improvements to process and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets, identify variances and provide insights to leadership.
- Manage financial software and identify opportunities for improved integration and processes.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
- Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion and accuracy of audited financial statements.
- Provide insightful analysis of financial data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Prepare financial forecasts and projections to support short-term and long-term planning efforts.
- Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and nonprofit reporting requirements.
- Prepare and submit required filings, including tax returns, grant reports and government compliance reports.
- Financial Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and banking activities.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity and investment strategies to optimize financial resources.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiency initiatives within the finance department.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of financial goals.
- Prepare reports and interact with volunteer governance body, with the primary responsibility of reporting the organization’s financial performance.
