Murphy Joining House Ways and Means

This comes on the heels of Devin Nunes' resignation

Rep. Greg Murphy (R-NC) is joining the House Ways and Means Committee, filling a vacancy following the resignation of Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) from the House.

Murphy’s appointment was announced this week by Ways and Means Ranking Member Kevin Brady (R-TX). Murphy’s appointment is of interest to associations since Ways and Means has jurisdiction over tax legislation.

“I am honored to serve as an advocate for North Carolina on the Ways and Means Committee,” Murphy said. “We have many challenges on our horizon this year but I am confident that House Republicans are well-positioned to fight for expanded economic opportunities and affordable health care for families and businesses, in addition to promoting policies that incentivize American innovation and job growth.”
