But while a “no regrets” mentality may be a mantra for many, trying to live without this most common negative emotion is “life-thwarting nonsense,” writes bestselling author Daniel Pink. In his new book released Tuesday, The Power of Regret: How Looking Backward Moves Us Forward, Pink argues that regret—as long as we don’t become mired in it—should be embraced. It can actually help people improve their decision-making, boost their performance and find deeper meaning in their lives, he writes.
