Recession Fears Are Running Rampant

Meanwhile, 87 percent are concerned over the rising costs of living

Inflation is stressing us out. A whopping 87 percent of Americans reported that the rising costs of living are a major source of stress in their life, according to a new survey. That stress translates to recession fears, too.

Less than 1 in 5 Americans plan to increase stock investments this year, according to a new survey from Bankrate. The news comes as stocks edge toward bear market territory.

Jobless claims rose. Last week’s initial applications for unemployment benefits, a proxy for layoffs, surged the most since January, according to the Labor Department. It could be a sign the job market is slowing.
