COVID-19 Update: 17,225 Newly Confirmed Cases

Week of June 27, 2022

Today, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) reported 17,225 new COVID-19 cases and 483 new hospitalizations for the week.

The agency did not report any additional deaths from COVID. ODH recently indicated there would be no additions to the state's COVID-19 death total on June 9, 16, 23 and 27 due to the installation of a new coding system.

The ODH also reported 2,848,453 confirmed cases, 38,857 deaths and 119,334 hospitalizations. The agency also reported 7,363,444149 Ohioans have received at least one dose of the vaccine; this figure represents 62.99 percent - a low figure compared to numbers nationwide, which are approximately 83.0 percent of the populace.

On March 14, 2022, the ODH announced it will only report COVID-19 data weekly rather than daily. This is in response to a significant decrease in cases and hospitalizations statewide. It will only be reported on Thursday; thus, OSAP will only report it on Thursdays, too.
