Ten City Forecasts as Debby Threatens Floods from the South to Vermont

The National Hurricane Center is warning of the potential for “considerable” flooding

Downpours from Tropical Storm Debby drenched and flooded parts of the Carolinas Wednesday night into Thursday morning as the storm lingered near the coast. The storm’s final phase is forecast to unfold Thursday afternoon into Saturday as it heads up the East Coast, bringing a slug of heavy rain from North Carolina to Vermont.

The National Hurricane Center is warning of the potential for “considerable” flooding all along this path.

Debby made its second landfall early Thursday as it came ashore along the South Carolina coast just north of Charleston. The storm should pick up speed as it travels north across the Mid-Atlantic on Thursday into Friday and the Northeast on Friday into early Saturday.
