Trump Begins Mass Layoffs across Agencies, Sources Say

The move is expected to affect thousands of government employees

President Donald Trump's administration, including Elon Musk's Taskforce, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is continuing its far-reaching, sweeping effort to reshape the federal government -- though is being met with legal challenges.

Meanwhile, Trump is making his first big foray into foreign diplomacy with calls to Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russia's Vladimir Putin on how to end the three-year war launched by Russia. He is also continuing to lay out his pitch for U.S. ownership of Gaza, which is drawing international ire.

The president will likely be asked about these issues and more as he signs additional executive orders and hosts Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House.
