Pappas & Associates Expands Again with the Addition of Lobbyist Kwafo Adarkwa
He will also support clients in its partner-company Kelley Cawthorne
Pappas & Associates, one of the Midwest’s leading multi-client lobbying firms, recently announced the expansion of its lobbying team with the addition of Kwafo Adarkwa.
Adarkwa will spearhead business development and support current clients in the firm's Columbus office, which include Fortune 100 companies, major retailers, professional sports leagues, leading healthcare organizations, and cutting-edge technology firms.
He will also support clients in partner-company Kelley Cawthorne's Detroit and Lansing, Michigan offices starting today.
Adarkwa, who will represent a variety of clients, brings expertise in energy policy, regulatory affairs, and government relations to the lobbying team at Pappas & Associates. This follows his 16-year career at ITC Holdings, the largest independent electric transmission firm in the United States with operations in Michigan, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.
"We are fortunate to add someone with Kwafo's regulatory and policy background to our team," said Tom Pappas, president of Pappas & Associates. "I look forward to his contributions in Columbus and working with him on client issues in Michigan, as well."
Adarkwa most recently served as director of public affairs at ITC, where he acted as an expert witness before the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC), managed corporate giving efforts, and led college and university outreach. Prior to working for ITC, he began his career in the energy regulatory industry as a public utilities engineer at the MPSC.
"I am beyond elated and looking forward to joining the well-established Pappas team,” said Adarkwa. “I’m excited to bring my expertise to the firm to drive good and valuable public policy for our clients across the Midwest. The future is bright for Pappas & Associates, and I’m honored to be a part of that future."
Adarkwa also holds active memberships and leadership positions in industry and community organizations, including the American Association of Blacks in Energy, Michigan Energy Innovators Business Council, MLK Commission of Mid-Michigan, Michigan State University Black Alumni Association, and Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce Policy Committee. Adarkwa is an electrical engineer who holds a BS and MBA from Michigan State University.
