Central Ohio Faces Rising Congestion Issues Related to Population Growth

ODOT eyes US-23 as traffic congestion concerns keep rising

As central Ohio continues to grow, many major roads are becoming too crowded to accommodate all the drivers. On top of more traffic, first responders often find themselves dealing with more crashes.

In January, Delaware County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to an eight-car pile-up after a driver failed to yield while turning left and ended up in an apartment complex parking lot. The damage from that wreck not only totaled multiple cars but knocked out power for hundreds of people.

Believe it or not, deputies say this isn't a first along that road.
