In Texas, 88 Confirmed Dead, including 27 from Camp Mystic
Dozens are still missing
South-central Texas is again at an elevated risk of excessive rainfall, threatening to bring further flooding to the ravaged region as search operations for the missing enter a fourth day.
At least 88 people have died in the Central Texas floods, including 28 children. Camp Mystic in Kerr County said Monday it is grieving the loss of 27 campers and counselors.
Dozens of people across the region are still unaccounted for, including 10 girls and one counselor from Camp Mystic, according to Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha. The death toll has now surpassed the Johnstown, Pennsylvania, floods of 1977 that claimed 84 lives.
