I-270/I-70 Flyover Ramp Opened in Columbus

It opened August 16

The Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) Far East Freeway project reached a major milestone Saturday with the opening of a new flyover ramp carrying traffic from Interstate 270 southbound to Interstate 70 eastbound.

The ramp is the centerpiece of the first phase of construction, a $76 million project that began in 2022 to improve the I-70/I-270/Brice Road eastbound interchange.

The two-lane flyover replaces the old loop ramp from I-270 southbound to I-70 eastbound. ODOT says the design will cut down on weaving and merging that have contributed to traffic backups.
