The Perks of a Pet-friendly Office

Understand the proper ways to implement this

On June 20, the annual Take Your Dog To Work Day took place around the world — a day when employees are invited to bring their dogs to the office. However, for some companies, this isn't just a one-off gesture — it's part of everyday corporate culture.

For example, more than 15,000 dogs are registered to come to work at more than 129 Amazon offices across the Americas. Some of those offices feature dog-friendly amenities like paw-wash stations and fully equipped dog parks.

People want to spend more time with their pets — who are increasingly seen as full-fledged family members. I have witnessed this firsthand in my company. At Kormotech, where we produce food for cats and dogs, a love of animals is a key requirement for joining our team. In fact, 85 percent of our employees have pets. That's why, 13 years ago, we made the decision to create a pet-friendly office environment.
