Customer Support Specialist

American Society for Nondestructive Testing | Columbus, Ohio

Position Summary:

The American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) is looking for an individual with at least 3-5 years’ experience in customer support and sales to fill a full-time, remote Customer Support Specialist position.

The successful candidate will be people-oriented and enjoy building customer relationships by identifying customer needs. They will also have excellent communication skills, as well as strong organizational, time-management, and computer skills, plus possess the ability to problem-solve, and work both independently and as a part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Respond to customer questions and inquiries via email, phone, and live chat.
Keep up to date on association programs, benefits, and events to accurately answer questions and make product purchase recommendations to customers.
Perform data entry, log customer interactions, and accurately keep customer records.
Make outbound calls with supplied scripting.
Process sales and send receipt and confirmation communication.
Issue refunds and credits.
Make recommendations for improvements to processes and ways to increase efficiency.
Supply summary reports of customer interactions and issues.
Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Associate degree, preferably in business, communications, or marketing.
Three plus years of relevant working experience in customer service, business development, sales, marketing, or related field is required.
Prior experience working in customer relationship management (CRM) database and or Association Management Software (AMS) is required.
Prior experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Prior experience with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Basecamp preferred.
Prior experience with multi-line phone system.
