What a New Study Says about the Effects of Drinking Coffee and Tea

Drinking more than four cups daily is linked with a lower risk of some cancers

Coffee and tea consumption may be associated with a reduced risk of head and neck cancer, a new analysis suggests.

Head and neck cancer, referring to cancers of the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, paranasal sinuses and nasal cavity, and salivary glands, is the seventh-most common type of cancer. There are more than 900,000 cases globally and more than 400,000 deaths every year, according to the Global Cancer Observatory.

The analysis, published in the journal Cancer last month, found that drinking more than four cups of coffee daily is associated with a lower risk of head and neck cancer.
