The House narrowly voted to approve the GOP budget blueprint Thursday by a vote of 216-214, delivering a major victory for President Donald Trump's legislative agenda.
Trump congratulated the House on the bill's passage, saying in a post on his Truth Social platform that this "sets the stage for one of the greatest and most important signings in the history of our country. Among many other things, it will be the largest tax and regulation cuts ever even contemplated."*
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent called the bill's passage "a statement of purpose and strength."
